There are many different people, but we are all unique. Sometimes we are much alike and sometimes we meet people that are totally different from us meaning our face shapes, hair color and its color, our thinking, our clothing and etc. Our face shape determines how we cut or dye our hair, what hairstyles do we choose to wear, which pair of sunglasses or spectacles are the most appropriate for us and maybe what kind of outfit we like to wear.
There are websites that offer you the possibility to upload your photo and then to determine what is your face shape. There are also tips to determine which of the face shapes is similar to your own. You can stand in front of the mirror and draw your face with a lipstick and then you can ask someone to help you define your face shape. Some magazines would tell you to look at the pictures of celebrities and than compare yourself to them.
There are six types of face shapes by classification: Round face, Square face, Oblong face, Diamond face, Heart-shaped face and Oval face. To determine which one is the most alike to yours, you need to measure some parts of your face. You need to measure your cheekbones, jaw, and the widest part of your forehead and vertically from top to the bottom of your face. After that you need to write the measurements down in order to define your type of face.

Between Face shapes oval face shape has the characteristic that the length is 1 1/2 x width. If your face is round, the length will be equal to the width of your face. Oblong face has length longer than the width of your face and has more angular shape rather than round shape. If your face fits the description that jaw is narrow with cheekbones and/or forehead that is wide, you have Heart-shaped face. Diamond face can be recognized when face is widest at your cheekbones.

Chinese methodology of classification face shapes is very interesting. They separate face shapes by elements and each element has its own group of characteristics. There are five elements and because of that they have five face shapes. These face shapes are: Wood Face, Water Face, Metal Face, Earth Face, and Fire Face. Also by a face shape, Chinese can say if you are going to be a good speaker, an independent industrialist, a market researcher or for example an insurance agent.
